Before filing a trademark application, it is recommended to proceed with a search for prior art.
The search must be carried out through a paid database according to criteria related to the type of product/services and to similarities with the mark for which the search is requested. The database allows all the world’s registers to be searched.
Nice Classification
A further step in the trademark registration process is the identification of the products or services related to the trademark, which is done using the Nice Classification. The identification of the classes of products/services is of critical importance to better protect a specific product/service and also to avoid conflict with earlier trademarks registered in similar classes.
